🙘 Mermaid Birthday Card 🙚
Today I will be showcasing a beautiful stamp set from the new Stampin' Up catalogue.
I originally had another card planned for today but my Stampin' Up order came today and in the box, there was this stamp set called Magical Mermaid.
I am already in love with this set! It is so so pretty and I just had to show you a card that could be made using it.
I wanted to showcase the detail that is on the large mermaid stamp and how delicate she looks.
I will definitely be trying out different ways in which colour can be added to her.
I have used Watercolour Paper for today's card to create the ocean background.
Please enjoy the tutorial :)
Card base -
Bermuda Bay card stock 10 x 6 inches (26 x 15 1/2 cms)
Score @ 5 inches (13 cms)
Other card stock used -
Watercolour Paper - 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches (11 1/2 x 14 1/2 cms)
Basic Black card stock - 4 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches (12 1/2 x 15 cms)
Ink Pads -
Lemon Lime Twist
Using an aqua painter and the Island Indigo ink pad, brush the colour onto the piece of Watercolour Paper.
Make sure to cover all of the paper with the ink and then set the paper aside to dry.
Stamp the large mermaid onto a piece of Whisper White card stock using the Island Indigo ink pad.
Fussy cut the mermaid out.
Once the watercolour paper has dried. Ink all of the edges with a sponge/dauber and the Bermuda Bay ink pad.
Sponge colour from the Lemon Lime Twist ink pad over a couple of different areas of the paper.
Also use the Lemon Lime Twist ink pad to stamp the seaweed across the bottom of the watercolour paper.
Stamp the seaweed at different heights to give a more realistic effect.
Stamp over the seaweed in places using the Garden Green ink pad. (Again make sure to stamp at different heights)
With the bubble stamp and a Versamark ink pad.
Stamp the bubbles in the bottom left and top left hand corner and once in the middle on the right hand side.
Sprinkle White Embossing Powder over the bubbles and set with a heat tool
Using the Island Indigo ink pad, stamp the small mermaid into the top right hand corner.
Attach the piece of watercolour paper on to the piece of Basic Black card stock with dimensional's.
Now attach the card front to the card base with tear and tape.
Place the large mermaid onto the card front at the bottom left hand corner.
Attach a diamante gem into the top left hand corner, the bottom right hand corner and also in the large mermaids hair. (Just below her headbead/plait)
The sentiment is also from the Magical Mermaid stamp set.
I have stamped the chosen sentiment with Bermuda Bay ink onto a piece of Whisper White card stock.
With dimensional's, back the sentiment piece onto a piece of Basic Black card stock.
Attach to the card front using tear and tape.
You now know how I have made this beautiful mermaid card.
I hope you have enjoyed today's tutorial.
As always, everything used will be linked and listed below.
I hope you all have a lovely rest to your day.
Take care & Always sparkle
