🙚 Water Colour Birthday Card 🙙

Good Morning Everyone!!

I hope you are all well and enjoying the start to your weekend :)

Following on from this weeks theme of retiring products.

Today's card is using one of the ribbons that will be retiring May 31st. It is also one of the soon to be retired in-colours; Tip Top Taupe.

To make this ribbon pop, I wanted to place it on a darker background and I was also wanting to try a new effect using the water colour paper. So...two birds, one stone kind of thing. Why not try to incorporate both ideas together :)

Today's card is what I came up with...

Card base - Basic Black card stock - 10 x 6 inches (26 x 15 1/2 cms)

Score @ 5 inches (13 cms)

Other card stock needed -

Whisper White card stock - 4 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches (12 1/2 x 15 cms)

Water colour Paper - 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches (11 1/2 x 14 cms)

Ink pads used for today's card -

Berry Burst (New Release June 1st)

Island Indigo

Bermuda Bay

Elegant Eggplant

On the piece of water colour paper, use daubers or sponges to add your colour where you would like it to go.

Don't worry about it being messy.

Once you are happy with the colour placement.

Use an Aqua Painter or Spritzer to place droplets of water all over the paper.

With a sponge, swipe across all of the colours so that it covers the whole piece of water colour paper and the colours merge together.

(If you miss areas or want to add more colours, be aware that whilst the paper is still wet. The ink will spread)

Dry the ink with a heat tool.

Ink the edge with the Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo ink.

The "Happy Birthday" framelits die is from a brand new bundle that will be available to order June 1st. (feel free to use any sentiment you wish)

Die cut the sentiment out twice. Once out of Basic Black card stock and once with Silver card stock.

Using the Tip Top Taupe ribbon. Attach a strip of the ribbon around the piece of water colour paper and adhere on the back of the card using tear and tape.

Also with the ribbon, make a bow to decorate later :)

Using a fine tip glue pen, first glue the silver "Happy Birthday" centrally on to the water colour paper. Then do the same with the black "Happy Birthday", making sure to offset it slightly from the silver wording.

Time to build the card....

Using tear and tape, attach the piece of Whisper White card stock to the card base.

With dimensional's; place the water colour card front onto the piece of Whisper White.

Finish the card by adhering the ribbon bow using either glue dots or tear and tape.

In each corner of the card front. Place a diamante.

You now have a unique colourful card that could be used for either a man or woman and was extremely fun to make :)
