🖌 Sneak Peak - Artist Card 🖌

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to today's card post and tutorial.

Today I have gone completely out of my comfort zone with bold colours and patterns that I don't normally work with. I like to push myself every so often and try something new :)

I have been playing around with one of the brand new stamp sets you will find in the up and coming catalogue from Stampin' Up. Due for release June 1st.

The new stamp set is called Crafting Forever. It is such a fun set and I can imagine it will be quite a popular one when it becomes available to purchase.

Along with the new set. I have used the Playful Backgrounds stamp set.

Playful Backgrounds Photopolymer Stamp Set
When I first purchased this stamp set. I was really unsure how I was going to be able to use it. But, as I have said earlier. Its good to push yourself out of your comfort zone and try styles that make you think :)

I am so pleased I did as I have used all four of the stamps in previous cards.

Here is how I made today's card..

Card base - Night of Navy card stock measuring 10 x 6 inches (26 x 15 1/2 cms)

Score @ 5 inches (13 cms)

The Design Series Paper I used is again a new product coming June 1st.

This measured 4 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches (12 x 14 1/2 cms)

You will need Whisper White card stock -

1 piece @ 3 x 4 1/4 inches (7 1/2 x 11 cms)

2 pieces @ 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches (6 1/2 x 9 cms)

You will need Night of Navy card stock -

1 piece @ 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 inches (8 1/2 x 11 1/2 cms)

2 pieces @ 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 inches (7 x 9 1/2 cms)

On a separate piece of Whisper White card stock; the pot of brushes were stamped with a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad and then I fussy cut the picture out.

(Use a stamp of your choice for your centre image)

Using a Marina Mist ink pad and the brush stroke stamp from the stamp set Playful Backgrounds. Stamp the image onto the largest piece of Whisper White card stock.

To get the pattern that I have on my card. Place the part of the stamp that has the dot marks into each corner of your Whisper White card and stamp.

With the two smaller pieces of Whisper White card stock. I used an Island Indigo ink pad and the two stamps which look like bubbles.

On one piece stamp the solid bubble stamp twice in a diagonal pattern and then repeat again with the outline bubble stamp on the other piece of card stock.

The sentiment is from a stamp set called Work of Art. This was stamped with a Night of Navy ink pad on to a piece of Whisper White card stock and then backed onto a piece of Night of Navy card stock; using tear and tape.

Time to build the card...

With dimensionals, attach the three pieces of Whisper White card stock on to the piece of Night of Navy card stock that is 1/4 inch bigger.

Onto your biggest piece of Whisper White card stock, attach the pot of brushes to the centre of the card stock. Use dimensionals.

With tear and tape; attach your DSP on to the card base.

The piece with the solid bubbles; attach to the bottom left of the card base using tear and tape.

The piece with the bubble outlines, attach to the top right of the card base. Again using tear and tape.

Layer the piece of card stock with the paint brush pot on, over the top of the two bubble pictures.

Attach the sentiment onto the card.

I positioned my sentiment slanted as I thought it looked better to me.

You now have this really arty card that will work for any occasion :)
