🙞 Pop of Colour Sliding Easel Card 🙜

Good Morning Everyone,

I am following on my week of retiring Stampin' Up products with this card today.

The retiring product from this card is the Love Sparkles stamp set.

Love Sparkles Clear-Mount Stamp Set
I am so sad that this stamp set is retiring. I just love the font of the words and they look fabulous embossed, like I have done for today's card.

Today's card I am calling a Sliding Easel card. These cards have probably been shown lots and lots of times before, but I haven't seen one so I am not sure.

TUTORIAL

Card stock needed -

Basic Black card stock -

2 pieces @ 6 x 6 inches (15 1/2 x 15 1/2 cms)

1 piece @ 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches (12 1/2 x 12 1/2 cms)

1 piece @ 4 x 4 inches (10 1/2 x 10 1/2 cms)

Melon Mambo card stock -

2 pieces @ 1 x 4 inches (2 1/2 x 10 1/2 cms)

1 piece @ 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches (11 1/2 x 11 1/2 cms)

Bermuda Bay card stock -

2 pieces @ 1 x 4 inches (2 1/2 x 10 1/2 cms)

1 piece 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches (11 x 11 cms)

Whisper White card stock -

1 piece @ 3 3/4 x 2 1/2 inches (9 1/2 x 6 1/2 cms)

You will also need a piece of decorative paper for the slider tab. This needs to measure 1 x 8 inches (2 1/2 x 20 1/2 cms)

How I made the card base -

On one of the pieces of 6 x 6 inch pieces of Basic Black.

Make a mark on all four sides at 1 inch (2 1/2 cms)

Draw a line between the marks on each side.

On three of the sides, cut the length between the marked lines.

The uncut mark line is the top edge.

On the centre panel that you have made, score and burnish from the top edge at 2 1/2 inches (6 1/2 cms)

With the strip of decorative paper. Score and burnish @ 1 1/2 inches (4 cms)

Using tear and tape. Attach the strip to the centre panel. (see photo below)

With the second 6 x 6 inch piece of Basic Black card stock.

Adhere it to the back of the card front piece. Making sure not to enclose the sliding tab. (see photo below)

(I have used yellow tape so that you can see where I have placed it.)

Making the card front -

Adhere the strips of Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay card stock to the card base using tear and tape. (See the finished photo at the top of this post)

Onto the piece of Whisper White card stock. Stamp the words "Celebrate" and "Its Your Day" with a Versamark ink pad.

Also with the Versamark ink pad. Stamp the star cluster in each of the corners.

Sprinkle over Gold Embossing Powder and use a heat tool to make it sparkle.

Set a side.

To make the balloons you will need the following ink pads from Stampin' Up :

Melon Mambo

Bermuda Bay

Wisteria Wonder

Lemon Lime Twist (Upcoming in new catalogue)

Using a dauber and scraps of card stock. Stamp the colour in a random pattern. It is the daubers that make the effect for the balloons I have decorated this card with.

Using the Balloon Bouquet Punch. Punch out as many balloons as you would like to use on your card.

Ink the edges of each balloon with the same colour.

Building the card -

Using tear and tape, layer up the remaining card stock.

Make sure that the largest piece of Basic Black is at the bottom of the layering, then the piece of Melon Mambo, then the piece of Bermuda Bay and then finally, the smallest piece of Basic Black.

Attach the piece of Whisper White card stock using dimensional's.

Before adding the balloons, attach your layered card front on to the base.

Only apply tear and tape below the score line on the centre panel.

Centre your card front and attach it to the panel.

Using dimensional's and glue dots, arrange the balloons how you would like along the top edge of your card.

I tied a few strands of thin ribbon to the bottom of my balloons.
