Neutral Beautiful You Card

Good Morning Everyone!!

I am here today to share with you, my entry for this weeks sketch challenge for the Global Design Project.

I love the simplicity of this card and the colour palette is so pretty. I hope you like it :)

The stamp sets that were used for today's card were the Beautiful You stamp set and the Mixed Borders stamp set. (Both from Stampin' Up)

If you have not had a look at the Beautiful You stamp set, the link to the product will be at the end of this post. It is a definite must see, even if just for the sentiments. Gorgeous set! :)

TUTORIAL

Card base - Whisper White card stock - 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches (22 x 14 cms)

Score @ 4 1/2 inches (11 cms)

2 further pieces of Whisper White card stock -

1 piece @ 3 x 4 1/4 inches (8 x 11 cms)

1 piece @ 4 x 5 1/4 inches (10 1/2 x 13 1/2 cms)

2 pieces of Soft Sky card stock -

1 piece @ 3 1/3 x 4 3/8 inches ( 8 1/2 x 11 1/2 cms)

1 piece @ 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches ( 11 x 14 cms)

Using a Pink Pirouette ink pad; stamp the small flower from the Mixed Borders stamp set onto the smaller piece of Whisper White card stock. Do this in opposite corners of the card. (Top right and bottom left hand corners)

With a Sahara Sand ink pad, now stamp the line of dots stamp, again from the Mixed Borders stamp set; on either side of your card front. (see photo)

Stamp your chosen lady from the Beautiful You stamp set onto the centre of your piece of Whisper White card stock. Using the Pink Pirouette ink pad.

With the Sahara Sand ink pad and a dauber, dab the colour around the ladies feet, to give the effect of soil.

Again; using the dab effect. Use a Soft Sky ink pad and a dauber to dab colour on to the area surrounding the lady. To give the effect of the sky.

Using a dauber/sponge. Ink the edges of your card front with the Sahara Sand ink pad.

With the larger piece of Whisper White card stock, place on your scoring board.

Line the two top corners against the 3 1/8 mark on either side of the score board. (Your piece of card stock will be led diagonally on your board)

Score @ 3 1/4, 3 1/2 and 3 3/4.

Ink the edges of the larger piece of Whisper White card stock with the Sahara Sand ink pad.

Now its time to build your card.

Back each piece of your Whisper White card stock onto the piece of Soft Sky card stock that is slightly bigger, using Snail Adhesive for this.

Using dimensionals, attach the bigger Whisper White/ Soft Sky card stock to the card base. Then place your card front piece on top.

Sentiment -

The sentiment is one from the Beautiful You stamp set.

This has been stamped on to a piece of Whisper White card stock using a Sahara Sand ink pad.

Edge the edges of the card stock with the same ink pad and back your sentiment piece onto a piece of Soft Sky card stock.

Attach your sentiment to your card front using Snail Adhesive. Place in the top left hand corner, so it is overlapping the layers of the card.

Voila!!!

You now have a beautiful, subtle card that would look gorgeous on any table, windowsill, shelf....you name it :)
