πŸ™— Embossed & Painted Flowers πŸ™”

Good Morning Everyone,

Today I will be showcasing the above card. I have really enjoyed making this card and taking the time to hand colour all of the details that you see.

The whole design has been embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and has been coloured using Stampin' Up inks and an aqua painter.

I just love how the gold pairs so nicely with the pastel colours.

For the next week, I will be using products that are on Stampin' Up's retirement list and are only available until May 31st or whilst stocks last.

Today's item from retiring list is the stamp set Mixed Borders.

Mixed Borders Photopolymer Stamp Set

This stamp set is a really useful set and I have used it so much since I purchased it.

The stamps I have used from this set today are the single flower cluster you see in the bottom right hand corner and also one of the sentiments for today's card.

I have also used for my card; the stamp set Garden in Bloom.

TUTORIAL

Card base - Very Vanilla card stock - 10 x 6 inches (26 x 15 1/2 cms)

Score @ 5 inches (13 cms)

Smoky Slate card stock - 4 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches (12 1/2 x 15 cms)

Blushing Bride card stock - 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches (11 1/2 x 14 cms)

Whisper White card stock - 4 x 5 inches (10 1/2 x 13 cms)

Using a Versamark ink pad, the single flower cluster stamp and the flower and butterfly from the stamp set Garden in Bloom.

Stamp your chosen design onto the piece of Whisper White card stock.

I opted for three of the flowers from Garden in Bloom in the centre, two butterflies on the left hand edge and then I filled in the rest of the piece of Whisper White with the small flower cluster.

Sprinkle over your Gold Embossing Powder and using a heat tool, make the magic happen and make it all sparkly :)

Now to add the colour.

The ink pads I used from Stampin' Up were -

Sweet Sugarplum

Tempting Turquoise

Pink Pirouette

Wisteria Wonder

Using an aqua painter and a sponge to keep the brush clean. Go ahead and paint the flowers and butterflies how ever you would like.

For the large flowers, I filled in each of the petals with the Pink Pirouette colour and then using light brush strokes. I added some of the Sweet Sugarplum ink just in the centre half of the petals.

The small flowers and the two butterflies were coloured using watered down Tempting Turquoise and Wisteria Wonder ink pads.

To achieve the lighter shades and the watered down effect. I used the lid of the ink pad to squeeze some of the water from the aqua painter out and using the brush of the painter, picked up the coloured ink from the pad and mixed it with the water until I had the shade I was looking for.

Once you have finished painting on the colour, leave to dry for a few minutes.

Ink the very edge of the card front with your Tempting Turquoise ink pad.

Using dimensionals, adhere your card front to the piece of Blushing Bride card stock.

With tear and tape, attach the piece of Smoky Slate card stock on to the card base.

Attach the your card front piece to the card base, also using tear and tape.

Sentiment

The sentiment is one from the Mixed Borders stamp set. This has been stamped onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock using the Sweet Sugarplum ink pad.

It has been backed on to a piece of Smoky Slate card stock with dimensionals.

Attach your sentiment to your card front also using dimensionals.

Voila!

You have a beautiful card :)

I hope you have enjoyed today's tutorial and as always everything I have used for today's card will be listed and linked to where you can purchase that item; down below.

Have a lovely day what ever you have planned and I shall be back here tomorrow.

Take care & Always sparkle
