🙒 Double Layer Dragonfly Card 🙖

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope you are all doing well and have had a lovely weekend. Plus I hope you all had chance to get some crafting done :)

Today I am here to showcase this beautiful double layered dragonfly card.

I am calling it a double layer card due to the card front being two layers of Very Vanilla card stock. The top layer has all of the detail of the card front and is the piece that the dragonfly has been die cut from. The bottom layer has had the die cut dragonfly stencilled on to it and has been placed behind the top piece to give a shadowing effect.

The dragonfly piece that was used to stencil has also been used to give this card a 3D effect. No waste here! :)

I love the colours of this card and was very surprised how the Cherry Cobbler ink that was used, went with the more subtler colours of the card.

Quick note, because I cannot show you the stamp set that I have used yet. I will list the measurements that have been used and a general idea of what I have done. :)

Here is how I made today's card...

Card base - Sahara Sand card stock - 10 x 6 inches (26 x 15 1/2 cms)

Score @ 5 inches (13 cms)

Mid-layer piece - Very Vanilla card stock - 4 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches (12 1/2 x 15 cms)

Card front - 2 pieces of Very Vanilla card stock - 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches (11 1/2 x 14 cms)

The stamp set used for today's card is one that will be a hostess reward set in the new catalogue. It is called Background Bits. I am going to get so much use out of this stamp set :)

First of all you will need one of the pieces of the card front.

Using the following ink pads. Use the stamps you have in your stash to create a similar design :)

Ink pads used -

Cherry Cobbler
Sahara Sand
Pink Pirouette
Memento Tuxedo Black

Once you are happy with the design of your card front.

Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies

Place the smaller of the two detailed dragonfly framelits into the centre of the card front.

Run through your big shot machine.

Line up your card front with the second piece of Very Vanilla card stock that is the same size.

Place the cut out dragonfly to match the section that has been cut out from your card front and hold securely. (Make sure your stencil has the detail side facing down. This is so you do not get ink on the front of your dragonfly)

Stencil over the dragonfly with the Pink Pirouette and Cherry Cobbler ink pads.

Place your now stencilled piece of card stock to one side.

Ink around the edges of both the dragonfly and the section that has been cut out; with the Pink Pirouette and Cherry Cobbler ink pads.

Also ink the edge of the card front with the Pink Pirouette ink.

Now to build the card...

Using tear and tape, line up your two pieces of Very Vanilla card stock and sandwich them together.

Using dimensional's. Place the dragonfly on to the card front.

Slightly bend up the wings, tail and head of the dragonfly to give a more 3D effect.

With dimensional's. Attach your card front to the mid-layer piece of Very Vanilla card stock.

You can now attach this to the card base; using tear tape.

To finish off attach a glitter gem or diamante to each of the corners.
