❁Purple Petals Card❁

Hi Everyone!

Welcome back. Today I will be showing you how I made this gorgeous card which focuses on the colour Elegant Eggplant from Stampin' Up.

This is a beautiful rich colour that I tend to look over. As you can tell from my other posts. I am definitely a blue colour girl :) but I wanted to expand out of my comfort zone and focus on a colour that I don't normally reach for.

So, I sat down in front of my ink pads, closed my eyes and just reached for the first one I could touch. I am so glad I did because now, I really love this colour.

This card only uses two colours. The beautiful Elegant Eggplant and Very Vanilla.

TUTORIAL

Start off with a piece of Very Vanilla card stock that measures 11 x 5 1/2 inches (28 x 14 cms)

Score at 5 1/2 inches (14 cms)

From the top right hand corner of the card base. Make a mark 2 inches (5 cms) in on the top edge and 2 inches (5 cms) down on the open edge of the card.

Using these two points as reference. Fold the card base in a triangle shape towards you.

Also for this card, you will need a piece of Design Series Paper that measures 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches (9 x 9 cms) and a piece of Very Vanilla card stock which measures 3 x 3 inches (7 1/2 x 7 1/2 cms)

For the DSP, I chose to use a piece from the Paisleys and Posies paper pack. (Unfortunately, this paper pack is no longer available but I will link down below an alternative that could be used to achieve the same look, colourwise)

Now time to decorate this card :)

For the stamping of the card base. I used the stamp set Touches of Texture along with the Elegant Eggplant ink pad.

The piece of Very Vanilla that is 3 x 3 inches, I stamped the biggest stamp from the set Birthday Blooms. Which is this beautiful flower that can be used to create so many looks. I will definitely be using this stamp again in future cards.

Ink around the edges of the card base and the flower picture with the Elegant Eggplant ink pad. (See only one colour being used :) )

Now time to build our card up.

Attach the floral picture onto the DSP using dimensionals.

Using tear and tape, stick down the corner of the card base that we folded over earlier and then attach the floral picture. I left a margin of 1/4 inch (1/2 cm) so you could still see the Very Vanilla next to the DSP.

I punched out two butterflies from the same DSP using the Elegant Butterfly Punch and attached them to the card using dimensionals.

Sentiment

The sentiment is from the stamp set Birthday Blooms. I have stamped the "for you" stamp in Elegant Eggplant ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla.

Again back this onto a scrap piece of the DSP and then attach to the card using dimensionals.

Voila,

As always I will list all products used below including a pack of Design Series Paper that could replace the colour of the one I used today.

If there is any stamp set that you would like me to work with, please comment below and I will try my best :)

Have a fabulous day and I will see you all back here tomorrow xx

Take Care & Always Sparkle

Stazzy xx
