Today I will be showing how I made this card. I love how elegant this card looks. There are only three colours to this cards palette today. Two being Sahara Sands and Whisper White and the third being the gold. I really like how these three colours go together.
I am starting to look into different types of cards you can make. Can I just say the number of different ones you can do!?? just wow!! I cannot wait to try them all out to see what I can come up with.
Which style of card fold is your favourite?? Please leave a comment letting me know :) It would be really nice to hear what everyone's is :)
I hope you enjoy this tutorial x
Card base - Sahara Sands card stock measuring 12 x 6 inches (30 x 15 cms)
You will need to score this piece at 4 and 9 inches. (10 and 23 cms)
Two pieces of Whisper White card stock will be needed..
1) 3 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches (9 1/2 x 14 1/2 cms)
2) 2 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches (7 x 14 1/2 cms)
You will also need another piece of Whisper White card stock for stamping and punching out the smaller butterflies and a piece of Sahara Sand to die cut the large butterfly out. (The one on the left hand side of the card)
In this tutorial we will be using the stamp set Papillon Potpourri from Stampin' Up and a Sahara Sand ink pad.
From the stamp set, stamp two of the butterflies onto the piece of card stock that was 3 3/4 inches (9 1/2 cms) wide.
Stamp the same two butterflies onto the scrap piece of Whisper White and punch out using the Elegant Butterfly Punch from Stampin Up.
I also stamped the same butterfly on the 2 3/4 inch (7 cms) piece of card stock. I made sure the two butterflies at the top right of the card. Were aligned so when the card was shut. You can only see one.
For the big butterfly on the left hand side, I used the Butterflies Thinlits Dies and the scrap piece of Sahara Sands card stock.
With your four cut out butterflies; press the edges into a Versamark ink pad. There is no way to get this wrong or right. You do it how every you would like :)
Sprinkle over Gold Embossing Powder, grab your heat tool and watch the magic happen. (I still get excited over that bit haha, I dont think that will ever change) Leave a second to dry.
Now to assemble!
Using Tear and Tape, adhere the Whisper White pieces of card stock to the card base.
I used the fine tip glue pen to attach the large butterfly to the left hand side of the card. Fold it in half and I glued the other half to the back of the card.
Adhere the smaller butterflies on top of where you stamped on the pieces of card stock earlier, using dimensionals.
I then attached 3 diamante in opposite corners to give this card even more sparkle.
I hope this tutorial was ok to follow. Goodness knows how many times I said the word butterfly haha That will serve me right for putting so many on the card. BUT I think it was worth it :)
One more thing, as you can see I did also put a sleeve around my card just to hold it together and as you can see I also used some ribbon.
To do this, use a piece of Whisper White card stock (7 x 1 3/4 inches or 18 x 4 1/2 cms).
Punch out each end of the card stock using the Scalloped Tag Topper punch from Stampin' Up and thread through some gold ribbon. Stamp a sentiment and there you go.
I hope you have a fab rest of your day where ever you are xx
Take care and Always sparkle
