❃Bees & Petals Card❃

Morning everyone!

I am coming on today to share with you this pretty card I have made for Scrimpys Stampin' Forum this week, over on Facebook.

I really like the subtlety of the colours in this card and the Smoky Slate compliments the Pool Party card stock really nicely.

I have made my own Design Series Paper with the stamp set Touches of Texture from Stampin' Up. This set is such a lovely set and you get lots of different stamps within it, this makes this set such a fab price!

I also used a piece of paper from the paper stack Cupcakes and Carousels. This paper pack has a very vintage style theme. But be quick if you like it! This pack is now in the retiring list for Stampin' Up.

I hope you enjoy xx

TUTORIAL

Card base - Pool Party card stock measuring 11 x 5 1/2 inches (28 x 14 cms)

Score the card base at 5 1/2 inches (14 cms)

Cut your chosen piece of Cupcake and Carousels paper to 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches (13 1/2 x 13 1/2 cms)

For the custom Design Paper, you will need a piece of Shimmering White card stock that measures 5 x 5 inches (12 1/2 x 12 1/2 cms)

You will also need another piece of Whisper White card stock measuring 3 x 3 inches (8 x 8 cms) and a piece of Pool Party measuring 2 7/8 x 4 1/2 inches (7 1/2 x 11 1/2 cms)

Firstly to make your custom DSP.

Using the ink pad Smoky Slate. Stamp your chosen design onto the piece of Shimmering White card stock. I used the stamps that were the bouquet of flowers, the dragonfly, the small flower and the bumble bee.

Layer your custom paper onto the piece of Cupcakes and Carousels card stock using tear and tape.

Now take the 3 x 3 inch piece of Whisper White, the same Smoky Slate ink pad and the same stamp set and stamp another design similar to your DSP.

Colour in the smaller piece using your markers. The colours I used were Bermuda Bay for the dragonfly and the buds. Wild Wasabi for the leaves and Pool Party for the flowers.

With the smaller piece of Pool Party card stock, cut a triangle out at the bottom so you have a banner shaped piece.

Using your Oval Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, (the three smaller sizes) Layer them within each other on your coloured picture and run through your die cutting machine.

Now to build your card;

Arrange your oval pieces onto your banner piece. I attached the biggest oval with tear and tape. The next oval down with dimensional's and the smallest oval. I used two layers of the dimensional's. I liked how this looked and it definitely gave the card dimension.

Attach your custom piece of card stock onto the card base using tear and tape.

Then attach your banner, also use tear and tape.

For a final touch. I used the dotted stamp from the stamp set Mixed Borders.

Because these stamps are photo polymer. I was able to curve the stamp so that it sat around the largest oval nicely.

Stamp the dots using Smoky Slate.

Voila! Your card is complete.

I decided not to use a sentiment on the front of this card as I thought it would take away from the effect of the card.

I hope you have enjoyed today's card.

As always I will list down below, all products that I have used today.

I hope you all have a fab day and like always. Any questions or comments. Just get in contact. I would love to hear from you.

Take care & Always sparkle!!
