💛Calypso Wishes Birthday Card💛
Good Morning everyone!!
I am coming on today to share with you a Birthday card I made last week for my sister. As you can see. I also made her a matching picture frame with the word Sister embossed in copper.
This card measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches (14 x 14 cms), the main colour of the card is Calypso Coral from Stampin' Up. This is a beautiful colour which I am falling more in love with every time I use it.
Also this card features a style of bow I showed you how to make in a previous blog. Again these bows are so easy to do; yet so effective.
Start with a piece of card stock; I used Very Vanilla card stock. Which measures 11 inches by 5 1/2 inches (28 cms x 14 cms). Score at 5 1/2 inches (14 cms). This is your card base
To make the custom design paper. I used a piece of Calypso Coral card stock that measured 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 iches (13 1/2 x 13 1/2 cms) and a stamp from the stamp set called Endless Birthday Wishes from Stampin' Up. I used ink pad Rose Red to stamp with.
Going in a diagonal line. Stamp your chosen sentiment across the piece of Calypso Coral card stock. Leave this aside to dry.
While you are waiting, cut two 1/2 inch (1 1/2 cms) strips of Very Vanilla card stock and two 1/4 inch (1 cm) strips of a complimenting card stock. For my card I used one of the design papers from the collection Affectionately yours. It is a gorgeous paper with copper details. You could also use Calypso Coral too.
Also make the bow of your choice. I decided to make the six loop bow. Please see my bow tutorial if you are not sure how to make this bow. I used the three colours I was using in this card.
For the centre of the bow, I punched a flower using the petite petals punch and placed a circle from Stampin' Ups bright adhesive enamel shapes to be the centre of the flower.
Now it is time to construct the card.
I first adhered the strips of card stock to my custom DSP using snail adhesive in a cross shape. Doing this first; enables you to fold the ends of each strip around the back of card stock before attaching it to the card base. This gives the card edges a cleaner look.
Attach the card to the card base; again using snail adhesive.
Using dimensionals; adhere the bow to the centre of the card and you are finished!
You have a beautiful quick gift wrapped looking card. I also placed a tag behind the bow; with the recipients name on it. This was done using a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.
