πŸ’•Love, love & more LoveπŸ’•

Hi all! Yes I am back as promised...with this second card I have made 😊
I love how this card turned out and the options you could do with this idea are endless.

I wanted to make a few card ideas for Valentines Day and this is the first idea that came to me. I love the heart stamp out of a Stampin Up set I had purchased; called Love Sparkles. So I wanted to see what I could come up with. Then came the idea to make my own patterned paper.

Here is what I did....

I took a 5 3/4 x 5 3/4 inch (14 1/2 cm) piece of Whisper white card stock and like I did with my butterfly card. I took a sponge and the ink pad Cherry Cobbler and gently inked the edges of the card stock with the ink. This inking of the edges is highly addictive!! You have been warned! hahaha πŸ˜‚

I decided to go with a subtle colour for the majority of the hearts because I wanted just one to stand out. So I chose to go with Smokey Slate. I then went to work making my custom design paper.

I alternated the direction of the heart as I thought they sat better together on the card but that is just my personal choice. You do as you wish :) I also made a note of where I was going to want the one red heart. Again it is completely personal choice. You go with where you think it looks best :)

The best thing about custom design paper is there are no rules!! You do as you want and have fun with it πŸ˜€

Once I had finished stamping the design paper. I decided I wanted a little extra something and a little sentiment. I decided on a stamp from the Sealed with Love stamp set, which if you haven't seen it. Has quite a few different styles of heart stamps. So pretty! (I have placed a picture of the stamp set below)
I stamped the "Hello Love" sentiment again in Cherry cobbler coloured in so that it matched with the rest of the colours.

To give this card a little touch of sparkle. I decided to stamp a gold embossed heart in the bottom right corner; under the sentiment. (Have to have that sparkle somewhere, right?)

To do this, I stamped one of the heart stamps from the Sealed with Love stamp set with Versamark onto where I wanted the heart to go. I then sprinkled over the gold embossing powder over the stamp and shook off the excess. I'm always heavy handed with the embossing powder haha is anyone else the same? or is that just me? πŸ™‹

Using the heat tool from Stampin Up I heated the embossing powder. When doing this I always go around in circles. I find this helps prevent the card from bending or warping. After a few seconds, its like magic! the powder turns from ...well powder into shiny, sparkly splendour πŸ˜πŸ˜

To finish this card off. I placed my new custom design paper onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock which measured. 6 inches by 12 inches. (15cms x 30 1/2 cms) ; this had been scored down the middle at 6 inches :) I used tear tape to attach the design paper to the card base.

AND that is..... well that! for another card make! I hope this project gives you some ideas of your own 😊

Once again I will leave my Stampin Up shop link down below, along with all the product codes of the items I have used in today's blog. Stampin Up do make this easy for us, they have so many co-coordinating colours and stamp sets. Spoiled for choice!

Side note, I must say I am really enjoying the land of Blogging. I am still learning and ironing out the creases but hey I am having a ball!!

Anyways, I will see you all soon with my next creation.

Stay safe and always sparkleπŸ’–
