💗💙Butterflies & Birthdays💙💗

Thursday 2nd Febuary 2017

Whoops!! nearly forgot to come one and share with you, the two makes I have done these past two days! Still trying to get used to Blogging Land 😁😆

The first card I have made this week was for a challenge. The one and only rule of the challenge was that the make had to include watercolours in some way.

I came up with this:

Oh my goodness, how beautiful are those butterflies! 😊 I had so much fun making this card and have fallen completely head over heels in love with the Sizzix die cuts that I used for these butterflies 😍

It was also my first time using Stampin Up's water colour pencils. Which can I just say are soft as butter and so easy to blend! I also think you get a good range of colours in the pack. Whenever I have bought alcohol inks or felt tips for my craft. I find that you have to by a couple of sets just to own a nice range of colour. But these pencils, do have a good mix I feel.  Ok! enough dribbling and swooning over the pencils!! haha.

Let me tell you how I made this card.

A piece of Mint Macaroon card stock: 11 1/2 inches by 5 3/4 inches (29cms by 14 1/2 cms)
Score the Mint Macaroon card stock at 5 3/4 inches ( 14 1/2cms) To make a square shaped card.
A piece of Whisper White card stock: 5 1/2 by 5 1/2 (14cms by 14cms)

Using the Whisper White card stock and a few complimenting coloured ink pads (to the butterflies)and sponges. I inked the edges of my white piece of card. Just enough for a subtle colouring around the edge of my card.

I then attached the Whisper White card stock to the Mint Macaroon card stock using tear tape.

Like I said earlier in this blog. The butterflies are cut using a Sizzix thinlit that I purchased from Stampin Up.
Colour how ever many different sections of the butterflies using some of the colours available of the water colour pencils.
(Which I have to say made me feel like a girl again, colouring it all in pretty colours 👸)
Finally, using an aqua painter. I went over where I had used the pencils and blended the colours together. Let these dry. (Which does not take long!)

Then it is just the case of choosing where about on the card you are wanting the beautiful butterflies to go! Add one of your favourite sentiments and Voila!

All of the products that I used on this project are available from my Stampin Up shop. So please do pop along and have a look at all the goodies available to you. The link to my Stampin Up site is linked below and on my main page! 😀
